Foundations in Faith Community Nursing

The Foundations in Faith Community Nursing Course educates nurses of all faiths to assume the role of faith community nurse and begin program development within their own congregation.

Faith community nurses do not provide hands-on care, but help members of their congregation associate their faith with good health and general well-being. An active RN license is required with a minimum of three years of professional experience. Area nurses of all faiths are welcome to take the course.

The Faith Community Nursing Course for Fall of 2017 has been revised to meet the needs of those with busy work schedules. This course has been adjusted from the previous six day schedule to a new schedule that involves : two evenings, two full Friday classes and two half-day Saturday classes with one teleconference on Monday evening. The curriculum will be a combination of in-seat classroom time and self-study time for attendees to complete at their leisure. Each topic of the course is presented by a variety of expert speakers.
